The Centipede Trail is a rugged, narrow off‑road route that cuts through the foothills of the Bradshaw Mountains just outside Black Canyon City, Arizona. This popular 4x4 trail connects the historic Rock Springs area to the Table Mesa Recreation Zone and is a favorite among Jeep clubs, ATV riders, and off‑road enthusiasts from across the country.
Long before modern off‑roading, this region was home to the Hohokam and later the Yavapai people. In the late 1800s, prospectors searching for gold pushed into the Bradshaws, carving out mining roads and wagon routes that eventually became today’s network of off‑road trails. That mining history is a big reason the Centipede Trail exists at all.
With sweeping desert views, rocky climbs, and technical sections that keep even experienced drivers on their toes, the Centipede Trail is one of the most memorable off‑road adventures in central Arizona. It’s a trail you won’t soon forget.
